- had 6 month/holiday pictures taken at JC Penney. Did a lot better this time, smiling and happy. There were so many cute ones it was hard to choose!
- Dr. appointment: DTap and Polio (no reactions), 15lbs 15oz (50th percentile), 25 inches long (25th percentile) and head size 16" (25th percentile). Dr. says she doesn't have any teeth yet but she's working on them and that's why she's drooling a lot and chewing on everything.
- went on her first road trip San Jose (12/20), did really well and slept most of the way
- laughs when I sing and dance
- favorite toy is her pacifier
- loves playing with boxes and water bottles
- stares at babies and kids. Went to meet friends for coffee and she wouldn't stop staring, and smiling, at my friend's baby. So cute!
- wants to be on the move. Does not sit still.
- sat on Santa's lap again on Christmas Eve Eve and pulled Santa's beard
- did really well over Christmas even though she didn't nap much because we were out and about and was around a lot of new people
- has no stranger danger, will go to anyone
- this child will eat anything, carrots were a hit too
- loves peek a boo, especially when you hide behind a wall and jump out and say it. She also lifts the burp cloth over her face to play it.
- cracks up when I jump or dance in front of her while she's in the Jumperoo. She jumps with me and laughs so loud! It's the cutest thing!
- sitting up on her own for longer periods of time. Still falls backwards occasionally so we have to keep an eye on her.
- does not like green beans. Took the first few spoonfuls and then started gagging. Going to try them with sweet potatoes and see if she'll eat them....does not like them with sweet potatoes either. She was not fooled.
- packed up her travel bed, Bumbo, swing and play mat because she's outgrown them. Made me a little sad.
- tried letting her cry it out for 3 nights straight. Let her go an hour but she didn't fall asleep and gets out of her swaddle and moves all around the crib. But once John and I rock her for a little bit after the hour, she falls asleep fast and stays asleep.
- getting too long for her swaddles but still doesn't sleep well without it. Tried the sleep sack for a nap and she woke up when I laid her down.
- loves her new toys, building blocks and wagon, Violet (smiles when she says Joslyn), crawl ball and monkey ball. It's fun to watch her play with her toys.
- goes in circles when she's doing tummy time. She does what we call the worm and scoots forward.
- ok, she really is saying Da Da. She says it when John gets her out of the Jumperoo.
- loves to slam her hands down on her high chair tray or the table when I'm holding her.
- crying it out is working! For an entire week, she cried for 5-20 minutes and then fell asleep. Progress!
- sleeping in sleep sack now instead of the swaddle. Discovered she's a stomach sleeper. Trying not to freak out about it.
- tried chicken, at first she gagged but then she ate the entire bowl. I've mixed it with sweet potatoes and apples and she likes it.
- water in the sippy cup did not work. She doesn't know what to do with it.
- wearing 3-6 months and some 6-9 months
- tries to eat her feet when I'm changing her diaper
- makes clicking noises with her tongue
- stares at Abby and smiles when she sees her coming down the hallway
6 months!
