Life According to Z: Joslyn at 10 months

- stacks her toys on top of her canvas toy box
- takes her books out of her bookshelf
- pulled herself up and grabbed her pacifier off the coffee table
- Jackie swears she said "duck" 3 times while she was reading a book to her. She hasn't said it for us.
- I think she said "doggy" when we got home from daycare and she said Abby. Hasn't said it again.
- pulls up on everything now, the couch, the coffee table, the baby gate, her bookshelf, her toy box
- really wants to stand up and reach her Jumperoo.
- 1st trip to the beach (4/16), liked putting her hand in the sand and tried to eat the sand.
- learned how to clap!
- waving!
- tried black beans mixed with sweet potatoes, loved it! Finally found a protein our vegetarian daughter will eat.
- slept through the night for an entire week!! (4/10-4/17)
- switched to convertible car seat, still rear facing (4/17)
- says "oooh" when she's playing with her toys or looking at a book
- kisses her reflection
- loves the velcro closure on her Elmo set of books, opens and closes it over and over again
- chases down Abby and laughs. Loves to grab her tail and squeals when Abby licks her. We have to keep Abby from licking her though since she gets an allergic reaction.
- off the bottle at daycare, only drinks out of the sippy cup. Still won't drink water out of the sippy though.
- tries to climb up the rocking chair in her room
- says "dah" for dog, "ahbay" for Abby, dada a lot, mama but only when she wants me to pick her up
- loves drinking out of my glass, only way I can get her to have some water. But most of it ends up on her shirt
- did NOT like the Easter bunny, cried as soon as I put her on his lap (4/23)
- cruises along the coffee table
- did not like sweet potato fries, refused to pick them up. I don't think she liked the feel of them on her fingers. She did the same thing with pieces of banana.
- 1st pasta (4/24), loved it! I guess she is Italian.
- always trying to get my sandals and wants to chew on them
- puts her head on my shoulder when she's tired
- naps twice a day
- eats solids 3 times a day
- sleeps through the night the majority of the time
- talks all the time!
- dances to music
- tries to put her pacifier in my mouth
- shares her toys when we play
- loves the stacking cups and sorting bucket we got her for Easter, doesn't sort the shapes but loves putting things in the bucket
- plays with her toys more instead of chewing on them. Knew how to stack her cups as soon as she got them, so smart!
- took her 2nd flight to San Jose (4/29). Slept the entire way there and was pretty good on the way back and fell asleep right when we landed. Really good even though both our flights were delayed, one for 3 hours! Slept great while we were in San Jose. So happy she seems to adjust well to traveling!
- tried little bites of sweet bread, roasted chicken and turkey. Loved them all! (4/29 & 4/30)
- doesn't like when I cover her head with my nursing cover. She takes it off. Guess Mommy doesn't get any privacy.
- Jackie said she said "a dog" a couples time at daycare (5/3). I heard her say it too but she doesn't say it regularly.
- wearing 6-9 months
- 1st trip to Urgent Care (5/5). Had a 102 fever, threw up when I tried to give her Tylenol and refused to nurse. Urgent Care gave her a suppository of Tylenol, fever went down and she nursed while we were there. Followed up with the pediatrician the next day and he said a stomach bug is going around. She is 19lbs 7oz!
- think she's teething. Very cranky for an entire day, cried all the time. Waking up multiple times a night screaming.
- loves to hand us things, toys, pacifier, burp cloth. If it's in her hand, she wants to give it to us.
- smiles every time she watches Elmo's World and Abby Cadabby, dances to the theme songs. Also likes Cookie Monster. She watches Sesame Street with Daddy every morning.
