Jack at 5 Months

- got PCV and HIB, no reactions.  Had him weighed and he weighs 14lbs 4oz, still around 9%. (8/8)

- crying it out is getting better.  After about a week of torture, he started only crying for 15-20 minutes and then falling asleep and he usually sleeps from around 8-3:30/4.  He has his off nights but it’s getting better.

- more interested in his toys.  Reaches for and grabs them.  Likes his blue ball and rooster book the best. Likes to chew on the tag on the rooster book. Also likes pushing his car back and forth.  

- loves grabbing onto our faces, and hair. Poor Jos gets the brunt of the hair pulling.  

- LOVES purees!  Eats anything I give him, including broccoli and peas! He eats 4oz at a time twice a day.

- gradually falling into a nap schedule. If he wakes up after 7am, it throws it all off but usually he naps at 9am and then around 1pm.  

- loves Elmo. Laughs when Elmo’s World comes and stares at the TV.

- loves grabbing daddy’s glasses

- puts his hand in his mouth after every bite of food. Makes mealtime extra messy!

- still doesn’t really want to roll from stomach to back but is constantly rolling from back to stomach.  Also lifts his knees up and scoots himself forward

- will lift himself up in to a sitting position when you hold his hands

- rolled across the living.  Guess he’s getting the hang of rolling from stomach to back!

- loves standing up

- smiles so big when we look in the mirror and I say “who’s that cute baby?!”

- constantly “talking”. John claims he said “dada” but I’m not convinced yet.  I don’t want to believe another one of my children said dada before mama!

- got rid of the play mat because he wouldn’t stay on it and kept getting stuck under the music box

- loves the tags on his toys

- loves going in the pool and being outside

- sleeps on his side or stomach. Rolls to his side, right against the breathable bumper, as soon as I lay him down.

- sucks his thumb

- wearing 3-6 and 6 months

Taking care of two kids every day is hard work but moments like this make it all worth it.
