Life According to Z: Joslyn at 24 months

I don't want to be one of those moms who continues to go by months for their kid. I think after 24 months you just need to say 2, or maybe 2 1/2, but you can't go by months anymore because people without kids don't want to do the math. Yet another sign that my little girl is growing up way too fast. In the last few weeks, she's started looking more like a little girl than a baby :( I'm going to continue doing updates because it's the way I remember little things about her at this age but I'll have to come up with a more creative title for the posts ;)

- first: stayed up way past her bedtime and saw the fireworks at Disneyland, loved them!
- tries to bite me when she doesn’t get her way
- loves drawing on her easel and painting
- wants to buy a ball whenever she sees one in a store, even though she has at least 6 at home
- turned her car seat to forward facing
- call her a social butterfly, she will go to anyone and is getting really comfortable around a few of MOMS club moms and will go up and sit in their laps. She is not shy at all!
- also call her "Destructor" because she takes apart everything and will dump out all her toy containers just to jump on top of everything
- loves bugs- lady bugs, ants, these weird bugs that looked like lady bugs in France (we later found out they are called fire beetles!). She points out every bug she sees.
- will sit on the potty but doesn’t want to go pee in it
- lots of 1sts this month: stay in a hotel room, time visiting Boston, international flight, stamp in your passport, time taking the subway, trip to Paris, time you fell asleep in the stroller, taste of French food!
- loved the bread in France, couldn’t get enough. Tried everything put in front of her, including the cheese plate (her favorite thing was the blue cheese).
- saying a lot more and thinks about how to put together words to form phrases. If you say something, she repeats it.
- tries to sing along to songs, sings the hot dog song from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and dances around to When Will My Life Begin from Tangled.
- says “Minnie”and “Mickey” "mouw", “Pluto”, “Goofy” and “duck” for Donald. Her Disney brainwashing is complete!
- makes me read the pop up version of The Very Hungry Caterpillar and Elmo Loves You over and over again
- moved to a booster seat at the table, put the highchair away
- calls every color blue but will repeat all the colors when we say them
- says “mommy mommy mommy” over and over again, like a song stuck on repeat
- always trying to climb something, the climbers at the park, stairs, the couch.
- loves taking pictures with the old digital camera that I gave her, mostly takes pictures of legs and feet. Takes some funny videos too.
- mimics everything we do- only says 2, 5, 6 when counting
- best friends: Charlotte and Vivienne (calls her "Vivi")
- favorite foods: guacamole, crackers, French bread, watermelon and she will do anything for a sucker
