Life According to Z: Jack at 1 month

- his hair sticks up in the back in the most adorable way

- likes to lay in his crib and look at his mobile

- has great head control. Can hold his head up for a long time.

- if he's fussy, he likes to be walked around.

- more aware when he’s awake and awake for longer periods of time

- sucks on his hand a lot but hasn’t found his thumb

- makes a throat clearing noise when he’s sleeping and a little screech noise

- started smiling and makes a happy coo noise

- falls asleep every time we go shopping. I’ll take him shopping if he refuses to nap at home.

- has done a few 5 hour stretches at night...it’s wonderful!

- try not to run in there with every cry or noise because he will sometimes soothe himself back to sleep

- rolls to his side

- still not much interest in the pacifier. Will take it for only short periods of time. I refuse to give up though. I’m tired of him using me as a pacifier!

- started cloth diapers (4/18)

- did his first craft (4/19), a toeprint chick

- wore his 1st pair of shoes (4/23)

- slept from 8:30-5:30 one night and 7:30-4:30 another night. Wish it was more consistent but it’s amazing he’s sleeping through the night already! I'm also very happy he goes to bed between 7:30 and 8:30. Still has a few fussy nights, usually when he’s overtired, when it takes us a few tries to get him to sleep for good but he’s a pretty good sleeper.

- always smiles when he sees his sister

- hates tummy time so much that he’s already trying to roll over. Pulls his knees up and leans to the side.

- holds onto toys when you put them in his hand

- likes the swing a little more. Jos put his car seat toy on there and he loves looking in the mirror. We usually put him in the swing in the kitchen when we are eating dinner.
