The changes for the Z family did not stop with me quitting my job and becoming a stay-at-home mom. John has been commuting 100 miles each day to work since March and it was taking a toll on him. He was never home before Joslyn went to bed at night and a change had to be made for our family. John has told me time and time again that he's never going to leave this company so it was time for us to move and be closer to his work. We put our house on the market, found a buyer (fingers crossed escrow closes on time next week!) and found a great rental house in Lake Forest, which is only 5 miles from John's work and it's a great family friendly neighborhood with wonderful schools. Even though it made me sad to leave the house where we started our marriage and brought our baby girl home from the hospital, there was not a doubt in our minds that the move was the best decision for our family. We've been living here a week and the boxes are almost unpacked and the house is slowly starting to feel like the home. The best part is that John is home in time for bath and bedtime every night and because of the move, I get to spend every day with my daughter. It will take some time to adjust to living in a new area but it already feels "right" for us. I love looking out my window and seeing trees and leaves and watching kids riding their bikes in the street as day turns into night. This is the type of neighborhood I dreamt about for Joslyn to grow up in. It's only 50 miles south of our old home but it feels like a completely different world!
