Life According to Z: Joslyn at 18 Months

- gave up on the monthly pictures. She won't sit still.
- loves peppermint candy canes. Gave her one because she kept reaching for them in her candy cane calendar and I thought she would hate it and that would be the end of it. What kid likes peppermint?!
- waves bye bye to Abby and blows her a kiss when we leave
- gives kisses more often now. She kisses her Daddy before he leaves every morning, but usually only after I kiss him first.
- fake yawns if she sees me yawn
- says "bye bye" all the time now
- started signing "bird", "book", "shoes", her version of "grandma" and "thank you", "hat", "shoes"
- got her a kitchen for Christmas! She loves opening and closing the doors and taking the fridge food in and out of the fridge. She uses a mini whisk to make us food. It's so much fun watching her use her imagination!
- I could do without her tantrum scream when she doesn't get her way
- loves snow peas
- when we ask "how big is Joslyn?" she holds up her hands and yells "oo iig"
- new favorite word is "nooo", wonderful
- did not love Santa this year, at the mall or on Christmas Eve Eve. Would only look at Santa on Christmas Eve Eve while I held her, took her treat box and said "bye bye". Said "Santa".
- loves running around in circles
- loves grandma Sue's macaroni salad
- took her to Christmas in the Park for the 1st time (12/26). She loved the train. Kept saying "choo choo" and "moor" while signing more.
- really into opening presents this year. Would finish opening them and sign more and say "moor"
- loved playing with her boy cousins! Milo and her bonded. She kept petting his head and she loved following him around while he pushed her train. Also loved watching the boys plays soccer. Would squeal in delight when they kicked it.
- loves singing Itsy Bitsy Spider, will also do the spider motions with her hands, and Ring Around the Rosy
- LOVES to dance, she shakes her butt and waves her arm up and down. It's the funniest thing ever!
- tries to repeat everything you say, and does pretty well repeating but doesn't always know how to use the word later
- new words: "shoo" for shoe, "oran ju" for orange juice or orange, "cacker" for cracker, Elmo, apple, baby, cow, hot, "moor" and "dun" or "ah dun" while doing the signs....and probably more that I'm forgetting. It seems like she says a new word every day!
- yells for Abby just like we do
- Daddy taught her to clink glasses and say "cheers"
- loves cutie oranges, would eat them all day
- has mastered the fork and spoon
- Grandma Z says she counted to three. She said "un", "du" and then said "eee" before Grandma Z said three.
- hits me sometimes when I won't give her what she wants. Trying to teach her to keep her hands to herself and use her words.
- says hi and bye bye to everything, anyone she passes in a store and the actually shelves in the store.
- can blow her nose and we don't even need to ask her to do it. She'll grab a tissue or boogie wipe and do it all by herself.
- refused to sit in her high chair a couple times for dinner so we decided to take the tray off and lowered her high chair so she could eat at the table with us. No more fights now and she's eating great.
- wearing size 5 shoes
- wearing 18-24 months and some 2T
