Our Growing Girl

- started saying her name when we ask who she is or point at a picture of her
- puts her cup or snack cup on a coaster, will go and find one if there isn’t one on the coffee table.
- drew on her strawberry shortcake doll, 1st time she’s colored something other than paper or her easel.  
- loves accessories lately, sunglasses and hats, but has to be the one to pick them out or won’t wear them.
- finally got her to wear a ponytail all day! I asked her “do you want your hair to look like mommy’s?” and she said “yeah” and didn’t pull it out after I was done!  She likes pigtails too because we tell her she looks like Boo from Monsters Inc.
- sings “happy birthday to you” and makes up her own words to sign along with other songs
- calls suckers “suck” and John thinks when she says flag it sounds like another not-so-nice word that starts with f
- used to hate bandaids and now she can’t get enough of them.  Wants one on her all the time, even if her boo boo is healed.
- says “naked” every time she’s shirtless
- saying so many words now, only takes us saying it once for her to learn it, and puts together phrases.  I can actually see her thinking about how to form a phrase and she says “um” when thinking of the right word to say.
- a few days with Grandma Sue and she’s getting better at her numbers.  Will count up to 5, with a little prompting.
- started watching Elmo’s Potty Time to get her familiar with the idea and we told her she would get a sucker if she goes pee or poo on the potty.  She hasn’t gone yet but she’ll sit on the potty and says “elmo potty suck” often, cracks me up every time she does!
- has to do everything herself, climbs into her booster seat and carseat and insists on buckling herself in.  I love that she’s independent but everything takes twice as long with her doing it herself!
- stopped biting but is now hitting.  We tell her to say sorry and give a hug so now as soon as we see her hit and call her name, she runs to give a hug. I think she knows it’s hard to be mad at her when she’s hugging you.  
- doesn’t want to sit at the table for breakfast anymore.  Wants to eat her yogurt in front of the TV.  
- climbs everything! 
- loves the step stool we got her for her bathroom because she can reach the sink and wash her hands and brush her teeth by herself. When I tell her it's bath time, she runs in there and grabs her toothbrush, puts toothpaste on it and brushes her teeth.- favorite foods: grapes, blueberries, cantaloupe, yogurt
- favorite books: Clifford, The Little Mouse, the Red Ripe Strawberry and the Big Hungry Bear and Elmo at the Supermarket
- favorite movie/TV show: Pingu, The Lorax
- favorite songs: Hot Dog!, Tangled soundtrack, How Bad Can I Be? from The Lorax
