- takes apart her sandwiches before she eats them. Will lick the peanut butter off or bite all the cheese off her grilled cheese and then eat the bread.
- didn’t want to nap off and on for a couple weeks but she has to stay in bed for an hour and then if she doesn’t nap, we have 1 hour of no TV or iPad. I turn on music and we have dance parties.
- says “the end” when she’s done reading a book
- crosses her arms in front of her, wonder where she learned that (ha!)
- tilts her head to the side, squints her eyes and says “mmmm” when she tastes something. She gets it from a cooking game her and daddy play in the bath.
- always wants to sit on her toilet, grab toilet paper and flush it but still won’t go pee in it
- finally let me put her swimmies on her in the pool and will float on her own and “swim” to the side or the steps. Still needs to get better about kicking and moving her arms but is getting very brave in the pool and will jump off the steps into the water.
- wants to go on the big kid swings, will hold on when I push her.
- went on the tea cups for the first time! Kept saying “dizzy”. Also went on the ladybug ride that she didn’t want to go on before, Flik’s Flyers that goes up in the air and the Mater ride that whips you around, getting a lot braver with rides! Also asked to go and meet her first character Mr. Incredible, wasn’t scared at all to go up to him and gave him a high five.
- wants to get herself dressed. Can put on a shirt and pants but it takes her a few tries to get everything through the right holes.
- she is no longer fooled by my food trickery. I made carrot fries and told her they were fries and she said “no fries, carrot”. My daughter is smarter than me at 2.
- if I tell her not to touch something she goes as close as she can without touching it and says “no touching”
- when I yell for John she will copy me and say “John!”, cracks us up!
- has a great memory so if we say something once she starts saying it. Will also try to recap to John what she did that day. She’ll throw in names of friends that she didn’t see that day but it’s still fun to hear what she remembers.
- loves birthday parties because there is usually a pinata, candy and cake
- went on a BIG slide at the fair 5 times and finally wanted to go on a merry go round again, and loved it! Also loved playing ring toss.
- can make a taco shape with her tongue. She gets it from daddy because I can’t do it!
- favorite foods: yogurt smoothies (or “monkey” because there is one on the bottle), “fru nacks” (fruit snacks), fries, corn dogs and hot dogs
- favorite words: what?, I did it!, likie or no likie, I got it!, happy birthday, “where ___ go?” and Ooooooooh
- favorite book: Elmo at the Supermarket, Pat the Bunny, Three Little Pigs
- favorite TV show/movie: Despicable Me, Up and Pingu
- favorite songs: Hot Dog!, Tangled soundtrack, How Bad Can I Be? from Lorax (calls the movie “Ba a a” because of the song)
We've gone to a lot of birthday parties in the last month, one was at the beach.
