Joslyn at 13 months

- nurses twice a day, in the morning and before bed
- had her 1st In-N-Out fry and loved it. Kept stealing Uncle Eric's fries.
- doesn't want to take an afternoon nap anymore
- took her first few steps!!! (7/15)
- 1st trip to the Cape! Came with a lot of firsts, 1st taste of ice cream (loved it! Had it 3 times.), 1st time in the pool (loved it, especially standing on the step and playing with her toys.), 1st time on a boat (didn't seem to mind the life jacket and didn't cry. I call that a success!), 1st taste of clam chowder and clam cakes (couldn't get enough of the clam cakes), 1st Dunkin' donut (loved this too). Took 5 steps in a row for the 1st time while we were there and did really well with the time change.
- hides her pacifier and toys under her leg
- her stomach is a bottomless pit
- taking more steps but still a bit unsure on her feet
- puts a closed water bottle in her mouth and tips her head back like she's drinking it. Loves to drink out of a water bottle but spills most of the water on her.
- points her arm to where she wants to go. Gets mad at us when we don't understand what she wants.
- won't stop opening the coffee table drawers no matter how many times we say no
- has her own language. She clearly knows what she's saying and gets mad when we don't.
- uses the sign "milk" when she wants something to drink
- pulls her tray in when she gets in her high chair and pushes the tray out when she's done eating
- new trick, spitting out her milk. I don't know where she learned it.
- loves being outside
- wants to push her car instead of riding in it
- likes bubbles now. Knows where they are outside and points over there until you go get them.
- loves climbing up and down steps
- says "quack quack" after I say it when I get out her duck towel
- walking more, can now turn corners instead of just walking in a straight line, but crawling still because she gets around faster that way
- blows kisses
- has to have her own wash cloth in the bath
- loves opening and closing doors and drawers
- says "Sascha", the dog's name at daycare
- clings to my legs when she wants me to pick her up and grabs onto my arm when I try to put her down
- got one more tooth on the bottom, 7 total
- has to try everything we're eating. We cannot eat in peace anymore unless she's asleep.
- went to the fair for the 1st time. Hated the sheep because they were noisy, got to pet a baby chick and ate funnel cake. Cried tears when I took the funnel cake away. Auntie Lisa and I taught her how to lick an ice cream cone instead of her previous method of sticking her face in it. 
- poor Abby. Now that Jos is walking, she's relentless in chasing Abby down. She grabs her tail, her ears, chunks of her fur and Abby takes it all with an occasional lick on the face. Such a good dog!
- carries around her lovie and a spare pacifier
- when she holds things, she holds them close to her chest and under her chin. It's so cute.
- Jackie said the little boy Jack at daycare started a little fight with her and Joslyn stood up for herself. That's my girl!
- found the spot we hang Abby's leash and for some reason loves playing with it
- wearing 9-12 months
- wearing size 3 shoes

13 months!

But then she decided to be brave and pet one.
